Securing, lock change, and board-up
Rekey, lockbox, and board-up after the property is vacant.
Securing is how a vacant house stops being an open invitation. Lock change, lockbox, padlocks, slider pins, and board-up of unsecured openings — after the property is vacant.
UIR does not evict people. If the house is occupied, the crew documents, leaves, and reports. Occupied houses are not rekeyed.
Who it's for
Realty companies and property managers who need a vacant house locked down — after a turn, after lawful possession, or after an inspection showed open doors or missing hardware.
What you buy
Lock change, lockbox, padlocks, slider pins, and board-up of unsecured openings. Work starts only after vacancy is clear. You get before-and-after photos of every opening that was touched.
What's typically in the scope
- Rekey or lock change on the openings you order
- Lockbox install when you want field access for the next visit
- Padlocks and slider pins where they belong
- Board-up of broken or missing glazing and open voids
- Before and after photos of each opening
Jobs we see on this line
- Vacant unit after keys walked
- After lawful possession — lock change and condition set
- Broken window or kicked door on a listed vacant
- Open garage, slider, or crawl space found on inspection
How this line runs
Send timestamped photos or video of each unsecured opening, current hardware, and any boards already in place. We bid from that media. Coverage is confirmed before we accept.
A local independent contractor does the work. If someone is still inside, they stop. We do not remove people. After the house is secured, the same desk can order lawn, trash-out, or repairs against the new photo pack.
Timing
Same-week scope once we have timestamped photos or video. A local contractor is sent only after coverage is confirmed and vacancy is clear.
How photos and video work
Each unsecured opening, current lock and hardware, any boards already in place. Before and after every opening. No occupant faces. See photo and video standards.
What this does not include
We do not remove occupants. Occupied houses are not secured. UIR does not evict people, file court papers, or give legal advice. After lawful possession, lock change and securing are field work — see eviction support.
Coverage
Nationwide desk. Local crews. We confirm coverage before we accept the job. Send the city on the request. If we cannot staff that market, we decline instead of taking the job and missing it. Coverage.
